Temperatures will gradually drop as the weekend approaches, and some snow could even fall into Thursday night.

The National Weather Service indicated it as 39 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and light rain and fog were reported.

Rain is expected before noon today, followed by a chance of showers after noon. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain could fall, and the high will be near 55.

Showers will continue to be likely before 4 a.m. tonight, and up to a quarter of an inch of rain could fall. The low will be around 43.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, along with a 30 percent chance of showers before 3 p.m. Winds could also gust as high was 28 mph. The high will be near 54.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, with a low around 33.

Mostly sunny skies are expected on Thursday, with a high near 48.
