Warmer temperatures will give way to colder temperatures and the chance of snow as the weekend approaches.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 39 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and partly cloudy skies were reported.

A slight chance of showers are possible before 8 a.m. today, and again after 4 p.m. Cloudy skies will otherwise clear through mid-morning, and winds could also gust as high as 34 mph. Today’s high will be near 55.

Partly cloudy skies are expected tonight, with a low around 34.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 50.

Cloudy skies will carry over into Thursday night, along with a 50 percent chance of snow after 8 p.m. Less than an inch of snow accumulation is expected, and the low will be around 31.

Mostly cloudy skies will wrap up the week on Friday, along with a 50 percent chance of snow. The high will be near 37.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, along with a 50 percent chance of snow. The low will be around 14.
