Spring-like weather is expected to stick around the Wyoming Valley as the week rolls along.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 51 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and light rain was reported.

Showers are likely before 1 p.m. today, followed by showers and a possible thunderstorm between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are predicted after 5 p.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is expected, but more could fall in any potential thunderstorms. Today’s high will be near 59.

Showers and thunderstorms are once again expected before 10 p.m. tonight, followed by scattered showers between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of total rainfall is expected, and tonight’s low will be around 39.

Mostly cloudy skies will gradually clear on Wednesday, and the high will be near 51. Mostly clear skies will follow into Wednesday night, with a low around 29.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 54.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, along with a chance of rain after 9 p.m. The low will be around 36.
