A chance of rain will stick around the Wyoming Valley for most of this weekend, and some thunderstorms could roll into the area on Sunday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 39 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Mostly cloudy skies will gradually clear today, and the high will be near 63. Mostly clear skies are expected tonight, with a low around 41.

Saturday will once again bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a 40 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the high will be near 64.

Cloudy skies will carry over into Saturday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers before 2 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be around 56.

Mostly sunny skies will round out the week on Sunday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Winds could also gust as high as 28 mph. Sunday’s high will be near 81.

Sunday night will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m. and showers will become likely overnight. The low will be around 52.
