PLAINS TWP. — Michael Lombardo will be awarded the 2017 Distinguished Leadership Award at the upcoming Leadership Wilkes-Barre’s annual dinner and graduation to be held 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at Mohegan Sun Pocono Hotel & Convention Center.

The dinner celebrates Leadership Wilkes-Barre’s graduating Class of 2017 and welcomes the incoming Class of 2018.

Lombardo is the business development director at Quad 3 Architectural and Engineering Services. He is a graduate of Bucknell University and worked for 20 years in public education, serving in various capacities, including both school psychologist and special education director.

He is a former mayor of Pittston City, chief operations officer and chief executive officer for the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry and appointed director of Governor Rendell’s northeast office, a position he held until Governor Rendell left office in 2011.

Lombardo has served as a member of several non-profit boards and as vice chair of the Pittston Tomato Festival Association for 20 years.
