Sunshine is expected in the Wyoming Valley as the week rolls along, but there will also be a chance of some showers and thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 66 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 80. Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 57.

Sunny skies are expected on Wednesday, along with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the high will be near 79.

Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies, with a high near 83.

Cloudy skies will return into Thursday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 66.
