The chance of showers and thunderstorms will linger in the Wyoming Valley as the weekend approaches.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 65 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 84.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 64.

Cloudy skies are predicted for Thursday, along with a 50 percent chance of showers. Thunderstorms will also be possible after noon. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is possible, and the high will be near 76.

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible through Thursday night. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. The low will be around 67.

Mostly cloudy skies will wrap up the week on Friday, along with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 82.

Friday night will also bring cloudy skies, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low ill be around 66.
