Afternoon tea party is Nov. 27

PITTSTON — An afternoon tea party will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27. Members must reserve a spot to participate.

Special bingo with Lynn from Green Briar will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29. Normal bingo will resume from 2 to 3 p.m.

Tickets for the Christmas Party on Sunday, Dec. 10 are currently on sale. Tickets are $25 per person.

Line dancing classes with Sue are held at 10 a.m. every Monday. Exercise classes with Catherine and Ruth are held at 9 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sandi offers chair exercise classes at 11 a.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. Thursdays. There is no charge for these classes.

Ceramic Class with Ann is held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Bingo with Ron and Amy is held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays and also from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Shuffleboard matches are held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays where the men challenge the women. Helen Shannon is the captain. Craft class with Faye is held at 10 a.m. Thursdays. Wii Bowling with John is also offered.

Geri Fit Fitness Classes are being offered. This exercise program has been proven effective for improving muscular strength, balance, coordination, motor skills, flexibility, arthritis and much more. There is no choreography, dancing, aerobics or floor work used in this program. Most of the exercises are performed seated in chairs. This is a different kind of workout which is fun, yet very challenging. There is no charge for these classes which will are held every Tuesday and Friday. FALLS ACTIVE ADULT CENTER

Book Club meeting Dec. 4

EXETER TWP. — Book Club will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4 to discuss “Light on Snow” by Anita Sheve.

Craft Club will make Holiday Hot Chocolate on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Rev. Gideon Giatano, concert tenor soloist, will perform a Christmas concert at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6. A Christmas Luncheon will also be held for Mary Kay Santa’s workshop fundraiser for the center with Pattie Gregorio.

Lunch & Learn will be at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 with Frank Cawley MPT from Cawley Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy to discuss “Low Back Pain — Causes and Ways to Treat Without Surgery.”

The center will close at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 for monthly meeting. A bag lunch will be available.

Mary Reeves from The Gardens will be on hand for a Christmas surprise at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14.

The Mobile Food Bank will be Friday, Dec. 15. Volunteers are needed at 9 a.m. to help package food. Contact Twila to sign up.

December birthdays will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 22.

Craft Club will be painting rocks Tuesday, Dec. 26 that anyone may place at various locations throughout the area, and whoever finds them will go onto the center’s Facebook page to say they were found and they may then relocate them to another area.

Weekly activities: On Mondays, there will be nutrition talks at lunch, followed by bingo. On Tuesdays, craft club will meet from 10 a.m. to noon, brain games will be played at lunch and Geri-Fit will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. On Wednesdays, coffee club meets from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. On Thursdays, Japanese exercise is held at 11:30 a.m. and bingo follows lunch. On Fridays, a geocaching activity takes place from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by Geri-Fit from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m.

COSMOPOLITAN SENIORS

Next meeting is Nov. 28

EXETER — The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 in St. Anthony’s Parish Center.

At this meeting, member will be required to register to pay $7 for their meal for the Christmas Party to be held on Dec. 12 at St. Anthony’s Parish Center. Non-members will be required to register and pay $14.

The meal will be catered by the Avenue Diner.

Bakers for the Nov. 28 meeting are Kathy Loucks, Edith Jones, Marie Cheskiewicz, and Kay Haddock.

At the Nov. 14 meeting, 50/50 winners were Bernard Petrasea, John Kavaleski, Fran Lepo, Mary Ann Markowski, Theresa Blasavage. The special game was won by Kay Haddock. The cover all was won by Rosalie Ferrera.
