Subway locations from the across the area recently participated in a campaign to raise money for Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. Subway representatives were on hand at the Pittston Subway inside Joe’s Kwik Mart on Nov. 13 to announce the amount raised and acknowledge the No. 1 fundraising location.

A grand total of $10,028 was raised during the campaign that was held during the late summer at participating Subways. The location inside Joe’s Kwik Mart was the top location raising $677.

Subway and Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger representatives attended the check presentation in Pittston. 2015 Miracle Kid Peyton Rusyn of Scranton also attended the event. Peyton was injured in a car accident that caused her windpipe to be torn in half. She underwent 4 ½ hours of emergency surgery at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.

The funds raised by this event will help to provide pediatric equipment, programs and services at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital and throughout Geisinger Health System. Thank you Subway for helping to make miracles happen!
