To assist small business owners and to aid individuals planning to enter the workforce or seeking higher education, Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) hosts outreach events in his district office each month.
On the second Thursday of each month, a counselor from the Wilkes University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is available during Small Business Development Center Outreach to help existing business owners to grow their business, explore new markets, plan strategically and operate with confidence. The outreach event is held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This month’s event will be held Dec. 13.
On the second Friday of each month, Kaufer hosts a Career and Educational Planning event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the event, Angeline Abraham, an academic specialist from Educational Opportunity Centers Inc., is available to offer free counseling on college admissions, financial aid, career planning and more. Adults, dislocated workers and career changers are encouraged to attend. This month it will be held on Friday, Dec. 14.
Kaufer’s office will also provide services to residents at its satellite office in the Kingston Township building, 180 E. Center St., from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 14.
