PITTSTON — The community is invited to “Fanfare for the Fourth,” a concert for Independence Day presented by musicians from the community on Tuesday, July 2 at 7 p.m. at Saint John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 35 William St.

A community choir will lead singing of patriotic hymns and choral selections as part of the concert, conducted by local choir directors Ann Manganiello, Raphael Micca, Dolores Mirro, Robert O’Boyle, David Tighe, and Sister Kieran Williams, IHM and accompanied on organ and piano by Michael Sowa.

Other participating musicians will be Paul Chmil and Jack Martin on trumpets, David Earnest and Todd Hunter on trombones, Sebastian Beck on clarinet, Mary Scheller on flute and vocals, Ed Sankus on guitar and vocals, and Monica Spishock on timpani and percussion. Junior performers will be Vincent Contardi on organ and Bella Franchetti, Rowan Lazevnick, and Anna Pietrowski on piano.

Pittston City Mayor Michael Lombardo will recognize veterans of the United States Armed Services during the concert.
