Two named to RIT dean’s list
ROCHESTER, NY — Lucas Mark and Alia Gestle, both of Pittston, have been named to the dean’s list at Rochester Institute of Technology for the 2019 spring semester. Mark is in the management information systems program and Gestl is in the illustration program.
Mies named to dean’s list
YORK — Joshua Mies, of Duryea, a junior Civil Engineering major at York College of Pennsylvania, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester.
Students begin final year
WILKES-BARRE — Abigail Gibbs and Haley Stackhouse, of West Pittston, and Elizabeth Scialpi, of Harding, all students at King’s College, recently began their final year of study as part of the Physician Assistant master’s degree program.
Their final year of study will consist of a series of clinical rotations. A 12-week rotation in family medicine and separate six-week rotations in medical specialties including emergency medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, and general surgery will conclude with their graduation from the program in August 2020.
Two receive degrees
KUTZTOWN — Alexsis Hermann and Thomas Bassett, both of Pittston, have received degrees from Kutztown University. Hermann r3eceived a Bachelor of Science in Education and Bassett received a Master of Education in Music Education.
Gestl receives BFA
ROCHESTER, NY — Alia Gestl, of Pittston, graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration.
White named to dean’s list
BURLINGTON, VT — Charles White, of Wyoming, has been named to the dean’s list at Champlain College for the spring 2019 semester.
Musto honored
KUTZTOWN — Evan Musto, of Exeter, a student-athletic at Kutztown University, was named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete for the 2018-19 academic year.
Voitek named to dean’s list
BALTIMORE, MD — Zachary Voitek, of West Pittston, a member of the Class of 2019 at Loyola University, has been named to the spring 2019 dean’s list.
Polit-Moran named to dean’s list
ROCHESTER, NY — Jude Polit-Moran, a senior majoring in biological sciences: cell & development at the University of Rochester, has been named to the dean’s List for academic achievement for the spring 2019 semester. Polit-Moran, of West Pittston, Pa., is the child of Sami Lynn Polit-Panek, of West Pittston, and John Moran of Carbondale, and a graduate of Wyoming Area High School.
Barber recognized
BLOOMSBURG — Allison Barber, of Pittston Twp., was one of 164 Bloomsburg University student-athletes who have been recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 academic year.

CHESTER — Greater Pittston students named to the dean’s list at Widener University for the spring 2019 semester include Michael Bonita, of West Pittston, Accounting and Finance; Elizabeth Kravitz, of Wyoming, Civil Engineering; and Abigail Sheerer, of Avoca, Biology.
