Book it Through Pittston Kick-off Party
Join us for Book it Through Pittston Kick off Party at the Red Mill on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. We are very excited to feature entertainment by Pittston native Brian Quinn, lead guitarist for multi-platinum rock band Candlebox. There will also be basket raffles and a 50/50 drawing. A percentage of the sales this evening will go to the library for our literacy program.
Book it Through Pittston

Chair yoga
Join us for a four-week chair yoga series. Cost is $40. The dates for this session are Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30. All classes start at 1 p.m. in the John P. Cosgrover Center. Call the library before Sept. 2 to register. Space is limited for this program.
Financial Aid Night
The Pittston Memorial Library will host a free Financial Aid Night on Monday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. in the John P. Cosgrove Center. District high school students and their parents are encouraged to attend this informative session to get a better understanding of the student aid process and how best to begin planning to fund their higher education. A student aid expert from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) will be available to provide information and answer questions. Art Afternoon
All are welcome to come to the library Friday afternoons from 1 to 3:30 p.m. for art afternoon. Work on some zen coloring in the library or bring your own supplies and work on some crochet, knitting or felting.
Grammar pencil sale
You asked for them… we got them. A set of five high-quality pencils with common grammar mistakes are just $5 and make a great gift for your favorite lit nerd.
WEST PITTSTON LIBRARY
Book Club
The Literary Snoops Book Club now meets at the West Pittston Library at 12:15 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch for the discussion.
WYOMING FREE LIBRARY
Gertude Hawk candy bar fundraiser
The library is selling Gertrude Hawk candy bars. Available flavors are peanut butter, crispy, caramel, solid milk and dark chocolate. Each bar is $1. All proceeds benefit the Wyoming Free Library.
