WEST PITTSTON — The Wyoming Area Kiwanis Club recently presented Kiwanis Care Bears to the Greater Pittston Ambulance Association and the Harding/Mt. Zion Ambulance Association.
Kiwanis follows its major emphasis program of Young Children Priority 1.
Realizing many children are traumatized at accident or fire scenes, the club purchased the bears for use by local first responder groups service the Wyoming Area.
President Kevin Murphy explained, “Anytime we can help a child, if only by receiving a teddy bear to hold onto, we know we are making a positive impact on the community. The bears are only one of the many projects we conduct to help young children.”
