PITTSTON — A 9-ton block of granite was delivered to the city of Pittston on Wednesday. Sculpture artist David Green, of Harveys Lake, will carve the granite into a piece a titled, “Spirale verso l’alto” (upward spirial). Green will work on the sculpture at the middle tier parking lot of the Tomato Festival lot over the next four to six months. The competed sculpture will then be placed in its permanent location behind the Pittston Memorial Library on Broad Street.
