Positive behavior program start at Martin Quinn Primary Center

(Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) means that teachers, administrators, counselors and support staff are going to take responsibility to teach students positive behavior expectations to…

• Maintain a safe learning environment

• Recognize positive attributes of students

PBIS helps students know exactly what is expected of them. Students who show self-control, take responsibility, have a positive attitude, and are respectful will be recognized and rewarded in a variety of ways.

Students are presented with a STAR Club Card when a teacher, staff member, or bus driver catches them demonstrating great behavior. The students’ names are recognized in a school announcement. Principal Art Savokinas makes a special phone call to the family to share the good news. The students then randomly select a numbered tile on theSTAR Club Board and place their name on the tile. When 10 tiles connect in a row on the board, students receive a special treat from the treasure chest. Only 10 cards are awarded daily.
