MATT LATONA
I am originally from the Back Mountain and moved to the Pittston area in my late teens. Growing up, I was always on the job with my grandfather, uncle and father. Naturally, I followed in their footsteps and am employed by the family business Latona Trucking & Excavating, as an estimator and project manager. I currently reside in Jenkins Twp. with my wife Melissa and our three daughters. Giuliana, Angelina and Maya. Funding cancer research is very important to me and my family. We’ve had too many friends and family members affected by cancer. I am participating for those close to me who have faced a cancer diagnosis, especially my mother Corinne who is an 11-year breast cancer survivor, and my grandmother, Gertrude. Also, in memory of my grandparents, Leo Latona, Matt and Verne Collura and my father-in-law, Brian McNulty. Thank you for your support!

PAUL MELVIN
I am a lifelong resident of Pittston City, living here with my wife Krista and daughter Evelyn. I have worked for Independent Graphics Inc. and the Ciampi family for over seven years. It is almost impossible to find someone who has not been touched by this disease in some way. I am running for all my family and friends who have been impacted by this disease. With a 3-year-old daughter and another daughter on the way this winter, I am hoping this will be a sickness they never know of. The Gentleman’s Dash is a great way to raise money and awareness, and have some fun doing it. Please help all of us raise money for a great cause !!!!!!

JOHN REBOVICH
I’m John Rebovich, a recent graduate of Bloomsburg University and employee of Reilly Associates. As a survey and design associate at Reilly, a longstanding civil engineering firm in downtown Pittston, I’ve worked hand in hand with Pittston City to further its growth and success in redevelopment and future planning. For the past nine years, I’ve served as a firefighter/EMT for both my hometown of Eynon and college town of Bloomsburg. Following in the footsteps of my great grandfather, Carnegie Medal Recipient Nazareth Tomasetti, who is featured on the Inspiration Mural for saving a co-worker’s life on Sept. 9, 1952, I am proud to participate in such a great cause, continuing his path of service to the City of Pittston. I am humbled to run in honor of my late great-grandmother, Margaret Tomasetti, and other close family members affected by breast cancer. Though I’ll only be racing a short distance in women’s shoes, I look forward to raising as much money as they have strength in the fight.

LEO SPERRAZZA
Paint Pittston Pink is very near and dear to my heart because breast cancer is a disease that has made its way through my family. I have seen the biggest examples of courage and faith watching my cousins and grandmother fight their way through recovery. To me, this is a wake-up call to what the human mind and body can do to recover and how truly unpredictable life is. I am honored to be a part of this fundraiser to show these women that they aren’t alone in this fight. If walking in high heels can bring some awareness and research funding to this cause, sign me up.

GENE STARR
Hi!!! I’m Gene. I live in Plymouth with my husband and two pups and I work for The Citizens’ Voice & Times Shamrock Communications as a sales account executive. Helping this great cause means a lot to me because there is no one I know who can say they do not have a friend or relative who has battled this terrible disease. I found a way I can help fight this disease, and that’s by raising tons of money for Paint Pittston Pink. This year, I will participate in the Gentleman’s Dash, where I will race through downtown Pittston wearing a pair of pink heels. I would love the bragging rights for raising the most money for this amazing cause.
