PITTSTON TWP. — Junior Achievement of NEPA invites the community to see what all the fifth-graders are talking about from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the JA Mericle Family Center for Enterprise Education. The open house will highlight the work of Junior Achievement, provide tours of JA BizTown and hand out information on how community members can get involved.
The JA Mericle Family Center for Enterprise Education was established in 2007 to host two capstone programs called JA BizTown and JA Finance Park. These programs are financial literacy laboratories that exist to inspire and prepare youth to succeed. Today more than ever, young adults need a strong foundation for making intelligent, lifelong, personal financial decisions. These capstone programs offer the chance for students to see, touch, and live the experience of personal finance and career readiness in a real-life setting of stores, shops, and financial institutions, by becoming “an adult for the day.”
Attend the open house to learn more about the in-classroom programs, capstone programs and how your business could help support our mission.
