Annual Health Fair

The Fifth Annual PML Health Fair will be held Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the John P. Cosgrove Center at the Library. This event will feature at least 28 vendors with information on available resources to families in the Greater Pittston area and adjoining counties. Snacks available. A Taste of Greater Pittston

Join us for a delectable afternoon at the library. A Taste of Greater Pittston is a much anticipated event of the year featuring food, wine and beer from the best restaurants, caterers, wineries, breweries and, of course, bakeries of Greater Pittston. The event takes place Sunday, Nov. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 each and offers you samples of food, wine and beer. Tickets are available at the Pittston Library. NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month Bringing together writers from all walks of life and of every flavor, National Novel Writ- ing Month is celebrating its 20th year this November. Join a great group of writers again this year for write-ins all month long. Open to all, registration not required. Craft Night: Dino-vember Charm Necklace, $5 Thursday, Nov 14, 6 p.m. Did you get enough terrible lizards in our last dino class or are you ready to ‘tri’assic another? Even if you have T-rex arms or only speak in a roar, you can create this adorable pendant necklace. Choose a “metal” finish and your favorite scaley (or feathery) plastic lizard, grab a couple of “paleontologists” and have an exhilarating night out.

The Literary Snoops Book Club now meets at the West Pittston Library at 12:15 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch for the discussion.

‘Poldark’ season five discussion

The library will hold a discussion group from 5 to 6 p.m. Mondays during the fifth season of “Poldark.”

LAFLIN PUBLIC LIBRARY

To celebrate Thanksgiving, adults visiting the Laflin Library and borrowing a book during the month of November, may enter their name to a random drawing for a opportunity to win a VISA gift card. Students, grade seven through grade 12 borrowing a book during the month of November may enter their name to a random drawing for an opportunity to win a cash prize. Winners will be notified on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

For children ages 3 through age 12, the library is having a coloring contest. Entry forms may be picked up at the library or from our website, laflinlibrary.org. All entry forms are due by Saturday, Nov. 23. Winners will be notified by Saturday, Nov. 30. For more information, call the library.

The Laflin Book Discussion Group will meet on Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. to discuss the book “Gentleman in Moscow.” The third and final book in the fall session will be distributed. New members are always welcome.

To celebrate the upcoming release of Frozen II and the further adventures of Elsa and Anna, children ages 3 and older are invited to join us on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. for stories, crafts and games. Light refreshments will be served. Call the library to register your child.

The Library Association will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome.
