EXETER — The Wyoming Area Scholarship Program announces the addition of seven new scholarships for the 11th year of the program which began in 2009 with several scholarships. To date, some 91 new scholarship have been added. Last year, over 660 applications were received from senior students.

Donors develop scholarship guidelines with some guidance and they select the winners, some with their personally selected scholarship committees. The Wyoming Area School District scholarship program has its own website, application, requirements and other features which make it unique.

The seven new scholarships offered this year for the first time are:

CLASS OF 2019 GIVES BACK (a tradition begun by the Class of 2015 All Nite Party parents group and continues to date by the All Nite Party parents groups that followed)

In addition, three scholarships from last year are becoming essay based. They are the Concetta & David Carey, Sr. Memorial Scholarship; the Harry J. Giacometti Memorial Scholarship and the Sgt. Donald F. Lasota, Jr. Honorary Military Scholarship.

Deadline to submit scholarship applications is Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020. No extensions to that deadline will be made.

The 11th Annual Scholarship Celebration will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in the high school gym beginning at 5:30 p.m.
