White named to dean’s list
BURLINGTON, VT — Charles White, of Wyoming, PA, has been named to the Champlain College Dean’s List for the fall 2019 semester. Students on the dean’s list have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the semester.
Ofier participates in program
BLOOMSBURG — Kyle Ofier, of Pittston, was one of 30 student athletes who participated with the Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania baseball team, in conjunction with the Department of Alumni and Professional Engagement, to host the program’s second annual Baseball Career Night at Jamison Elementary School in Jamison. Kyle Ofier is a Mid-Level Mathematics major.
Klush named to dean’s list
HEMPSTEAD, NY — Sarah Klush, of Pittston, excelled during the fall 2019 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the dean’s list at Hofstra University.
Sciandra awarded scholarship
WILKES-BARRE — The Maslow Family Graduate Creative Writing Program at Wilkes University awarded the Bergman Family Foundation Scholarship to Justin Sciandra, of Exeter. The scholarship was presented at the closing banquet of the Maslow Family Graduate Creative Writing Program on Jan 10, 2020. Sciandra is currently working on his poetry thesis with creative writing faculty member Phil Brady.
Strazdus named to dean’s list
WORCESTER, MA — Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Sarah Strazdus of Harding, a member of the class of 2021 majoring in mechanical engineering, was named to the university’s dean’s list for academic excellence for the fall 2019 semester.

The dean’s list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. They are Kara Boub, of Wyoming, a Creative Writing (BA) major of the Class of 2023 and a graduate of Wyoming Area High School; Kathryn Cebula, of Dupont, a Biology (BS) major of the Class of 2020 and a graduate of Pittston Area Sr High School; Alee Pettit, of Harding, a Neuroscience (BS) major of the Class of 2020 and a graduate of Wyoming Area High School; Gabriela Rubino, of Pittston, an English – Publishing and Editing (BA) major of the Class of 2021 and a graduate of Pittston Area Sr High School; and Marissa Traglia, of Wyoming, an International Studies (Undeclared focus area) major of the Class of 2023 and a graduate of Wyoming Area High School.

EAST STROUDSBURG — Diamond Coleman, of Duryea, was recognized when East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania selected winners for the 2020 Boddie Scholarship, Martin Luther King Jr. awards, and the Julianna V. Bolt Art Contest.

BETHLEHEM — Four Greater Pittston students have been named to the dean’s list at Lehigh University for the fall 2019 semester. This status is granted to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.
