Olivia Norwillo was the only Greater Pittston individual to score points Friday when District 2 held the first half of its swimming championships at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre.

Norwillo, a Pittston Area senior, finished 11th out of 24 in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:08.15.

The top 12 in each event scored points for their teams.

The Pittston Area girls ended Friday’s competition in ninth place out of 10 in the District 2-4 Class 3A Subregional team standings.

Wyoming Area was 10th out of 14 teams in District 2 Class 2A girls.

The Pittston Area boys, in the nine-team Class 3A field, and the Wyoming Area, boys, in the 13-team Class 2A competition, were each last after Friday.

The meets were scheduled to conclude Saturday.

Pittston Area placed sixth of 10 in the Class 3A girls 200 medley relay and ninth of 10 in the 200 freestyle relay.

The Lady Patriots used the same lineup – Kacie Fisk, Morgan Greomelski, Norwillo and Ella Hoban – in both relays.

Wyoming Area was ninth of 12 in the medley relay and 10th of 13 in the freestyle relay. Olivia Borys, Julia Crane and Becca Dymond were each on both relays. Maddie Johnson was part of the medley relay while Sofia Sabatini was on the freestyle relay.

The Pittston Area boys did their scoring in the freestyle relay where they were eighth of nine teams. Zack Gregory, Billy Bonzack, St. Raphael Moncer-Bouncy and Jake Gregory were on the relay team.

The Wyoming Area boys scored the fewest points by finishing 10th of 11 in the 200 freestyle relay and 12th of 12 in the medley relay.
