Pittston Area joined Wyoming Area with winning records on the season in Wyoming Valley Conference girls swimming.
The Lady Patriots won two out of three meets in a four-day stretch to improve to 3-2 overall. Wyoming Area suffered its first loss against Dallas, the last remaining WVC unbeaten, but won its other meet to reach 3-1, good for a tie for third in the 12-team league.
Wyoming Area 134, Nanticoke 31
Ameriana Walker and Ava Menditto each won two individual events after taking part in the opening 200-yard medley relay win for Wyoming Area in Thursday’s win over visiting Nanticoke.
Walker won the 50 and 100 freestyle. Menditto won the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle.
Karamia Marranca and Sofia Menta each won an individual event and were on a winning relay.
Ainsley Flynn and Emma Kratz were on both freestyle relay wins.
Bri Harry and diver Ella McKernan added individual wins.
Lake-Lehman 111, Pittston Area 69
Allison Vitanovec won four times and Lake-Lehman swept first place in every event during Thursday’s meet at Dallas.
Pittston Area 92, Holy Redeemer 72
Molly Fetchko won the 50- and 500-yard freestyles and anchored Pittston Area’s only other event win in the 200 freestyle relay Wednesday to lead the home victory.
The Lady Patriots pulled out the win by taking second place in seven of the other eight events contested and in two of the three events they won.
Dallas 138, Wyoming Area 46
Dallas breezed through the first-place battle in its home pool Tuesday.
Pittston Area 116, Hazleton Area 66
Dani Bermudez and Molly Fetchko were part of two freestyle relay wins and each won an individual freestyle race in Monday’s home victory over Hazleton Area.
Bermudez won the 50-yard sprint while Fetchko won at 100 yards.
Kate Kozlowski was also on both freestyle relay wins.
Gabby Gorzkowski, Maddie George and diver Alexandria Mortimer also had individual wins.
