Wyoming Area keeps winning boys’ basketball games.
The Warriors clinched a District 2 Class 4A playoff berth and moved closer to hosting quarterfinal and possibly semifinal games.
The playoff clincher came Monday at home over Lake-Lehman 69-40, then the Warriors beat the Black Knights for the second straight time with Friday night’s 70-42 road victory.
Wyoming Area has won seven straight. It won four times in a nine-day stretch through Friday night, beating opponents by an average of 70.3-42.8 during that time.
The first-place Warriors improved to 7-0 in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 and 12-4 overall.
Wyoming Area 70, Lake-Lehman 42
Tyler Sciandra led a balanced attack Friday night when the Warriors completed their home-and-home sweep of Lake-Lehman.
Sciandra scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures while another added eight points.
Wyoming Area led 21-15 after one quarter, 44-26 at halftime and 62-34 after three quarters before coasting to the finish.
Sciandra scored 16 points in the middle quarters to lead the 41-19 advantage during that stretch. He had 10 points in the second quarter.
Dane Schutter added 13 points.
Anthony DeLucca hit 3-pointers in each of the first three quarters on his way to 11 points.
Brady Noone had six points in the first quarter and finished with 10.
Luke Kopetchny hit two 3-pointers in the second quarter on the way to eight points.
Wyoming Area 69, Lake-Lehman 40
Brady Noone and Dane Schutter did most of the damage in the first half, then the Wyoming Area defense took over in Monday’s playoff-clinching, home victory.
Noone finished with 17 points, Schutter had 15 and Luke Kopetchny added 12.
Schutter scored nine points and Noone eight as Wyoming Area stormed to a 25-11 lead after one quarter.
Noone had seven points and Schutter six to maintain a 41-26 lead at halftime.
Wyoming Area broke the game open with a 19-2 third quarter, sending the rest of the game into the running time of the Mercy Rule.

Tyler Sciandra scored 11 of his game-high 19 points in the second half Jan. 20 in the road victory.
Dane Schutter scored 12 of his 17 points in the first half to help Wyoming Area to a 41-20 lead.
Brady Noone added 12 points for the Warriors, who scored at least 20 points in each of the first three quarters.

The Warriors turned a 12-12 game after one quarter into a 41-28 halftime lead.
Noone scored eight points and Tyler Sciandra had all seven of his in the second quarter.
