LEHMAN TWP. — Pittston Area sixth grader Nico Solano recently won the Penn League tournament championship and was named Outstanding Wrestler in the Junior Division.
During the tournament, Solano, a fifth seed, won his bracket at 91 lbs. He led a group of Pittston Area wrestlers to a solid tournament. Evan McCoy won first place in the Bantam Division at 50 lbs.
Pittston Area had a total of seven finalists in the tournament. They were Solano, McCoy, Xavior Pabon, Noah Gruber, Malkolm Blackshear, Brody Spindler and Dominic Innamorati.
