SCRANTON — Stephanie Jallen, Team USA Paralympian, is the star of the latest Toyota of Scranton commercial set to air during SuperBowl LII, on Sunday, Feb. 4. The commercial was filmed locally at Montage Mountain Ski Resort.
Jallen, of Harding, was born with Congenital Hemidysplasia with Ichthyosis and Limb Defects (CHILD) syndrome, resulting in the amputation of her left leg and underdevelopment on her left side. She began skiing in 2006, at only 10 years old.
During the 2014 Paralympics, Jallen took third place in the Super-G and the Super Combined while competing for Team USA in Sochi, Russia where she was the only one-armed, one-legged skier. She currently attends King’s College where she is pursuing a degree in business while also preparing for the 2018 Paralympics.
“I’m excited to represent my country and my community on the big stage and show the world that if you’re willing to work hard enough, anything is possible,” said Jallen
Toyota Motor Corporation is a Global 2018 Olympic and Paralympic sponsor. Toyota launched its ‘Start Your Impossible’ campaign in November 2017, highlighting Toyota’s mission to create a barrier-free society and reinforce the company’s values of humility, hard work, overcoming challenges and never giving up.
Team Toyota highlights these values as its 19 Olympic and Paralympic athletes and hopefuls serve to demonstrate the ultimate discovery of one’s true potential leading into the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
Toyota of Scranton brought that message local with this commercial starring Jallen titled “Perseverance,” which is slated to premiere during the big game and run through the Olympic and Paralympic season.
“Stephanie Jallen is a phenomenal representation of strength and perseverance in the face of adversity” says Meghan Gagorik, Director of Marketing at Toyota of Scranton. “We are honored to have been able to work with
Stephanie on this and look forward to cheering her on as she competes in PyeongChang in March.”
This is the third consecutive year Toyota of Scranton is running a spot during the Super Bowl. The commercial was produced by local company, TwentyFiveEight Studios.
