Sam Greenfield and the Wyoming Area boys enjoyed a big week on the basketball court.
Greenfield scored 76 points and hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to help the Warriors go 3-0 in the seven-day stretch through Friday night.
Nanticoke clinched the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 title during the week, but Wyoming Area was able to lock up a second-place finish.
The Warriors used the three-game winning streak to improve to 10-5 in the WVC and 14-6 overall.
Wyoming Area 65
Greenfield scored 27 points and the Warriors pulled out an overtime victory Friday to complete their celebration of Senior Night in the Division 2 game against visiting Berwick.
Aaron Zezza added 22 for Wyoming Area.
The Warriors led almost the entire game, including 29-21 at halftime.
Wyoming Area 52
Greenfield scored 30 points, including the game-winning shot from the top of the key at the final buzzer, to lift Wyoming Area to the WVC Division 2 win Tuesday.
Greenfield had 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Wyoming Area 68
Kyre Zielinski scored 21 points and Wyoming Area outscored host Tunkhannock in every quarter Feb. 3 in a game between winning teams jockeying for position in both the WVC Division 2 and District 2 Class 4A standings.
Greenfield added 19 points, Matt Wright had 12 and Aaron Zezza 11 as the Warriors put four players in double figures.
Tyler Faux led Tunkhannock with 21 points.
Pittston Area 43
Crestwood held Pittston Area to four points in the first quarter on the way to the WVC Division 1 victory Feb. 3.
Mike Palmiero had 11 of his 15 points to help Crestwood to a 22-16 halftime lead.
Logan Booth came off the bench to lead Pittston Area with 11 points, all in the second half. Naseem Guillaume went 7-for-8 from the line while adding nine.
Pittston Area 43
Leah Hodick scored 12 of her 23 points in the fourth quarter Friday night when Pittston Area pulled away for a Division 1, home-court win that moved the Lady Patriots above the .500 mark in WVC play.
Hodick and Alexa Noone combined to go 17-for-19 from the line while scoring 40 points.
The Lady Patriots led just 26-25 after three quarters before going 9-for-10 at the line in the fourth. Hodick and Noone were each 4-for-4 while Andrea Ruby was 1-for-2.
Gianna Centrella hit four 3-points while leading Dallas with 16 points.
Pittston Area is 7-7 in the WVC and 11-9 overall.
Wyoming Area 20
Reese Mensinger nailed seven 3-pointers while scoring 36 points Friday night to lead host Berwick to the WVC Division 2 rout.
Mensinger scored 19 points in the first half, then hit four 3-pointers while scoring 14 more in the third quarter while the Lady Bulldogs were stretching a 38-15 halftime lead to 61-20.
Berwick then shut out Wyoming Area in the fourth quarter.
Nicole Silinskie, who made two 3-point shots, and Sarah Holweg led Wyoming Area with six points each.
Wyoming Area fell to 9-6 and 14-6.
Pittston Area 71
Pittston Area raced out to a 20-3 lead after one quarter in Monday’s WVC Division 1 win.
Alexa Noone had 37 points and Leah Hodick added 16 in the win.
Noone had 10 points and Hodick six in the first quarter.
Wyoming Area 46
Savannah Purdy scored 13 of her 23 points in the fourth quarter Monday night when host Lake-Lehman broke away for the WVC Division 2 victory.
Cassidy Orzel led Wyoming Area with 16 points. Sarah Holweg added 12 and Ellie Glatz had 11.

Pittston Area shut out host Forest City in the fourth quarter to break open what had been an eight-point game in non-league action Feb. 3.
Alexa Noone made five 3-pointers while leading the way with 21 points. Leah Hodick added 20 in the win.

Joanna Gunning led the Lady Warriors in Friday’s WVC loss at home when she finished second in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle.
