American Legion baseball registration

PITTSTON — Anyone who lives in Duryea, Exeter, Exeter Township, Hughestown, Pittston City, West Pittson, West Wyoming, Wyoming and Pittston Township (west of the Pittston Bypass) interested in playing for the Greater Pittston American Legion baseball team may sign up from 9 to 10 a.m. Sunday, May 13 at the Italian American Citizens Club, Oak Street.

Little League meeting May 13

AVOCA — The next monthly meeting for the Avoca/Dupont Little League will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 13 at the Avoca Borough building, 950 Main St.

Among items to be discussed at this meeting will be the spring season, as well as the regular league business.

All coaches are to attend the meeting.

LEF Wiffleball Classic is June 3

WEST PITTSTON — The Third Annual Little Eric’s Foundation Wiffleball Classic will be held Sunday, June 3 at the West Pittston Little League, 535 6th St.

Sign-ins are at 8 a.m. and the game will start at 9 a.m.

Format is double elimination and five players per team. Age brackets are 7 to 9 year olds, 10 to 12 year olds, 13 to 15 year olds, and 16 to adult.

Bats and balls will be provided.

There is a $50 registration fee and the deadline to register is Sunday, May 20. To register, send a check to LEF with the team name, age bracket, and a contact person and phone to Jessica Speicher 508 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, PA 18643.

Stan Waleski basketball camp registrations underway

LAFLIN — Registrations are being accepted for the Stan Waleski Basketball Camp to be held for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten through 8 at the St. Joseph’s Oblates gym in Laflin from 9 a.m. to noon beginning Monday, June 25 and concluding Friday, Aug. 3.

The camp stress skills, fundamentals, competitions, team play and fun with all players receiving a camp t shirt and certificate. The camp also features grouping by age and grade in boys and girls divisions.

Soccer camp scheduled

WYOMING — The Wyoming Area girls and boys soccer team will hold an elementary soccer camp from June 25-28 at the Primary Center (10th Street) soccer field. Students entering kindergarten through third grade will be from 5 to 6:15 p.m. and grades 4-6 will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Cost is $45 ($30 for additional siblings). Free camp tee shirts to those who register by June 5.
