The Greater Pittston Senior American Legion team put together back-to-back, 10-run Wyoming Valley League victories on the first two days of July.

Greater Pittston defeated Tunkhannock, 10-0, and Stars & Stripes from Hazleton, 11-1.

Wilkes-Barre kept Greater Pittston from making it wins on three straight days when it posted a 6-5 victory Tuesday.

Chase Yochem had a triple, single and run scored for Greater Pittston. Cole Cherkas added a double and an RBI.

Greater Pittston’s perfect home record was ruined after five straight wins when it lost to first-place Swoyersville, 11-3, Thursday night.

The Greater Pittston Junior team had a win and a loss and had another game, against Mountain Post, suspended while tied, 10-10. Greater Pittston is 11-4 and in second place in the league.

The Plains Senior team took a winless record into Friday’s game at Stripes & Strikes.

Plains also lost seven straight Junior games to fall to 3-10.
