Wyoming area’s Brianna Pizzano named first-team all-state

Wyoming Area and Pittston Area each landed two infielders on the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association all-state team, including Lady Warriors shortstop Brianna Pizzano’s selection to the first team in Class 4A.

Pittston Area placed Lexi Felinski and Madisyn Antal on the second team in Class 5A. Tinsley Sarnak from Wyoming Area was a second-teamer in Class 4A.

Pizzano batted .457 with eight extra-base hits and 11 RBI.

Felinski, who played second base, batted .461 to lead the state quarterfinalist Lady Patriots. She also drove in 17 runs and had nine extra-base hits.

Antal, a third baseman, batted .400 with five homers and 23 RBI.

Sarnak, a first baseman, led Wyoming Area in batting average (.477) and doubles (11).
