EXETER – Thomas Gill and Len Coleman claimed the Senior Division title while Larry Morgan and Matt Lehman won a shootout among the flight winners June 30 when the 73rd annual John A. Allan Memorial, a three-day, member-guest tournament at Fox Hill Country Club, came to a conclusion.
Four teams pursued the senior title, which was determined through three days of net better-ball play.
Gill-Coleman shot 18-under-par, 195 for a four-stroke victory. They were the most consistent team, tying for the best score on the first and last days.
William Lawler-Joe Lawler posted the best round of the tournament in the second round and finished second.
There were 14 flights of six teams each. The flights played five nine-hole matches, each worth a point per hole, to determine the flight winners that then participated in the shootout.
Morgan-Lehman won the Second Flight, then defeated Steve Selenski-Len Selenski, the winners of the 14th Flight, in the shootout final.
The Senior Division scores were: Gill-Coleman, 64-65-66—195; Lawler-Lawler, 70-63-66—199; James Connors-Keith Zimmerman, 64-70-69—203; Ronald Good-Rick Good, 71-72-73—216.
The winners of each flight, with their winning point totals were: First, Walter Kuharchik-Art Brunn, 26; Second, Morgan-Lehman, 29; Third, Mark Rowan-Alex Rowan, 25; Fourth, Joseph Mantione-Robert Barnak, 27.5; Fifth, Tim Crossin-Mark Williams, 25; Sixth, Stephen Clemente-Mike Clemente, 26.5; Seventh, Thomas Sharkey-Don Loughney, 30.5; Daniel Fusco-Kevin Roof, 25.5; Ninth, Michael Garzella-Joseph Lundy, 24.5; 10th, Joseph Bruno-David Bruno, 26.5; 11th, Michael Boone-John Yencha, 28.5; 12th, Charles Manganiello-Matthew Blume, 27.5; 13th, Tom Capone-John Zelonis, 30; 14th, Selenski-Selenski, 29.
