Lauren Lopresto scored a pair of first-half goals Friday to send Pittston Area on its way to a 5-2 victory over visiting Hanover Area in a non-league girls soccer opener.
Lopresto scored on a Kyleigh Shupp assist and added an unassisted goal for a 2-0 halftime lead.
Rachel Deleo stretched the lead to 3-0 early in the second half.
Shupp and Giavannai Innamorati also scored. Brynne McGoff and Ryli Smith added assists.
Pittston Area had leads of 22-10 in shots and 6-2 in corner kicks.
Kendall Tigue made eight saves.

The Lady Warriors won the District 2 Class 2A title after finishing second in Division 2 of the Wyoming Valley Conference. The Lady Comets won the WVC Division 1 championship.

Both teams had four-man scores of 171, but Wyoming Area had the better fifth score.
Matt Sorick and J.T. Gober each added a 43 to help the Warriors overcome Lake-Lehman having the two lowest scores, including a 34 from Bobby Lugiano.
