Wyoming Area graduate Tristan Sokach-Minnick has landed an athletic scholarship for his work as the long snapper for the University of Albany football team.
Sokach-Minnick received word of the scholarship earlier this month, according to multiple social media mentions, including a posting on his Instagram account.
The 6-foot, 213-pound junior was a football captain, along with wrestling and competing in track and field while at Wyoming Area.
Sokach-Minnick appeared in six games as a freshman walk-on at Albany.
Last season, Sokach-Minnick played in 10 games. He made two solo tackles against the University of New Hampshire.
Stephen Sokach-Minnick, Tristan’s younger brother, is a teammate, as a freshman long snapper with the Great Danes. He also was a football captain, wrestler and thrower in track while at Wyoming Area.
