Wyoming Area’s Aubriana Marranca finished 21st in Class 2A girls Sept. 21 to lead Greater Pittston runners during the PIAA Foundation Meet.
Pittston Area and Wyoming Area each entered both boys and girls in the race, which annually brings together many of the top teams and individuals from around the state to run on the Hershey Parkview Course that will also be the site of November’s state championship.
The Pittston Area girls were the only full team entered from those programs. The Lady Patriots placed 43rd out of 47 Class 3A teams.
Nicole Zambetti from the Lady Patriots placed 78th out of 333 entries in the race, completing the 3.1-mile course in 21:59.
Marranca finished in 20:57. Teammate Emily Lehman placed 48th out of 186.
Michael Branley was 32nd, Jacob Katulka 46th and Kyle Emsley 73rd for the Wyoming Area boys in a Class 2A field of 208 runners.
David Bulford led Pittston Area, finishing 98th in the same race.
