Tara Johnson is enjoying an outstanding senior season with the King’s College women’s cross country team.

Johnson was her team’s first finisher in all three races so far this season, including posting a personal-best 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) time Sept. 20 when she placed 22nd out of 121 in a strong field at the Elizabethtown Short Course Invitational in 19:07.80.

The Pittston Area graduate was the Middle Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2016 and a first-team conference all-star in each of her first two seasons.

After opening her junior year with a victory at the Mustang Stampede, Johnson missed more than a month with an injury and only ran one more race, placing 36th at the MAC Championships. Johnson had been fifth and seventh in the conference in her first two years.
