Madeline Wharton perfect in match play for Misericordia golf team

Madeline Wharton is one of the leaders of a 3-1-1 Misericordia University women’s golf team.

Wharton opened the season with an 8 and 7 victory in an 18-hole match play format during a win over King’s College.

The Cougars are 2-0-1 when playing match play and 1-1 in medal play matches.

Wharton is unbeaten in match play, closing out all three matches in 12 holes or less.

In medal play, she has been the team’s second-best player each time with an 89 at Scranton Municipal in a loss to Scranton and a 93 at Irem Temple Country Club in a Sept. 28 win over Arcadia University.
