Wyoming Area and Pittston Area boys were on opposite sides while girls players from the two schools joined each other as teammates Thursday night in the Wyoming Valley Conference Senior All-Star Classic at Wyoming Seminary’s Nesbitt Stadium.

None of the Greater Pittston players were involved in the scoring.

Luke Coolbaugh and Gavin Lahart were the Wyoming Area players selected for the White team, which played the Black to a 2-2 tie in the boys game.

They were teammates with players from Freeland MMI, Crestwood, Tunkhannock, Holy Redeemer, Hazleton Area, Wilkes-Barre Area and Wyoming Valley West.

Pittston Area was well-represented on the Black team, which was also made up of players from Dallas, Lake-Lehman, Hanover Area, Wyoming Seminary, Berwick and Nanticoke.

Derek Cunius, Jacob Black, Bryan Rowan, Ethan Cox, Kris Vanesko, Charles Duddek Jr. and David Butler were the Patriots selected.

Wyoming Area’s Carley Yuhas, Abigail Yatsko and Caitlin McDonough were picked for the White team along with Pittston Area’s Sydney Copp.

The White, which lost 7-3 to the Black, also had players from Holy Redeemer, Nanticoke, Hazleton Area and Dallas.

The Black was made up of players from Lake-Lehman, Crestwood, Wilkes-Barre Area and Wyoming Valley West.
