Pittston Area boys basketball teams went a combined 5-1 at the 54th annual McGrane Tournament during the holiday break.
While the varsity had to settle for third place at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre after losing the semifinal game on a basket in the final second, the Patriots claimed titles on both the junior varsity and freshman level.
All three teams opened against Holy Redeemer.
Dom Jannuzzi hit the winning basket with three seconds left in the JV semifinal for a 41-40 victory, then matched Matt Johnson for the team lead with seven points each in a 34-29 championship game victory over Crestwood.
Ethan Ghannam and Alex Hoban added six points each to the balanced effort in the championship game.
Anthony Cencetti had 22 points in the freshman championship game, a 56-38 romp over Crestwood. Nick Cerasaro and Rob Barbieri added eight points each.
The Patriots beat Holy Redeemer, 36-30, in the first round.
