Pittston Area sent an all-senior starting lineup out for Senior Night.
With six seniors, however, that left coach Kathy Healey with a potentially difficult decision to make.
Hannah Getz made it easy.
Getz, usually a starter, volunteered to be the player coming off the bench.
Once in action, Getz led the way, scoring 14 points as Pittston Area halted a six-game slide with a 47-38 Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 victory over Crestwood.
Lily Savoy, another senior, added 10 points in the win.
Savoy was joined in the starting lineup by Samantha Christian, Emma Coles, Jada Sharp and Nicole Zambetti.
Pittston Area went into Saturday 5-8 and in a three-way tie for fifth in the eight-team Division 1. The Lady Patriots were 10-11 and fourth out of seven teams in the District 2 Class 5A seeding race with the potential to move up or down one spot.
Crestwood was led by Helena Jardine with 19 points.

Cassidy Orzel scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Morgan Janeski had a double-double as host Wyoming Area controlled the boards Wednesday in the WVC Division 2 win.
Janeski, who scored 11 points, and Maria Amato grabbed 13 rebounds each.
Nicole Silinskie scored 12 points and led the team with six assists. Mackenzie Nocchi also scored 12 points.
After shutting out the Lady Hawkeyes in the second quarter, the Lady Warriors led 33-6 at halftime.
With eight wins in the last 10 games, Wyoming Area improved to 12-9 overall and remained eighth out of 11 teams in District 2 Class 4A.
The Lady Warriors were 8-5 for fourth in WVC Division 2, with a chance to finish tied for third in the eight-team division.

Nicole Silinskie scored 20 points and made three steals to lead Wyoming Area, which dominated from late in the first quarter through the end of the third quarter.
Cassidy Orzel added 15 points and three steals.
Orzel hit a 3-pointer with a minute left in the first quarter to put Wyoming Area ahead to stay. Her basket started a streak of 15 straight points – the last six of the first, all seven while shutting out Northwest in the second and the first two of the third – for a 25-12 lead.
Silinskie made three 3-pointers while scoring 11 points and Orzel made two while scoring eight as Wyoming Area outscored Northwest, 23-5, in the third quarter for a 46-17 lead.
Halle Kranson also had three steals while Mackenzie Nocchi and Anna Winewski had two each as Wyoming Area’s defense bothered Northwest throughout.
The Lady Rangers managed just one field goal in the middle two quarters combined.
Wyoming Area used the win to officially lock up a district playoff berth.

Khairi Carson scored 19 points to lead host Hanover Area to Thursday’s WVC Division 2 victory.
Sammy Solomon led Wyoming Area with 13 points. Jake Greenfield hit three 3-pointers for nine points.
The Warriors led, 18-11, after one quarter but the Hawkeyes dominated the second quarter for a 33-25 halftime lead that they expanded from there.
Greenfield had two 3-pointers and Cole Coolbaugh had one while scoring five points for Wyoming Area in the first quarter.
Wyoming Area was 3-10 and tied for sixth out of eight teams in Division 2 going into Friday.
The Warriors were also 6-15 and seventh out of eight teams in the District 2 Class 4A seeding race. They seemed almost certain to remain there and wind up opening the playoffs with a quarterfinal game against Valley View.

Wyoming Area held visiting Northwest to two first-quarter points and Sammy Solomon finished with 19 points Tuesday, but neither was enough for the Warriors in the WVC Division 2 game Tuesday.
Solomon had 10 points in the third quarter when the Warriors surged back in front, 37-35.
Northwest made all eight of its fourth-quarter free throws while pulling out the win.

Host West Scranton opened a 29-0 lead in the first five bouts of Wednesday’s non-league victory.
Nico Solano, at 132, and C.J. Demark, at 152, had pins for Pittston Area (9-12). James Spindler added a decision at 145.

Wyoming Valley West won the final six bouts, taking the lead before the final two bouts for the come-from-behind, non-league victory over visiting Wyoming Area Tuesday.
Connor Wrobleski and Richie Hyzinski started with pins in under a minute at 160 and 171 for a 12-0 lead.
Ethan Speece had a pin at 285 in a streak of four straight winning bouts for a 30-12 lead. Nasir Condry (220) and Garret Pocceschi (106) won decisions and Wyoming Area picked up a forfeit during that stretch.

James Spindler’s first-period pin at 145 pounds, in the final bout decided on the mat, lifted Pittston Area to Tuesday’s non-league victory on the road.
The Patriots picked up the final 12 points needed for the win with forfeits in the final two bouts.
A.J. Gorto (170), John Symons (195), Adrian Colon (220) and Nico Solano (132) all won by first-period pins. Solano needed just 22 seconds for his first victory.
