Eight little girls are vying for the title of Little Miss Cherry Blossom, who will be chosen at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the West Pittston Cherry Blossom Festivities on the riverbank in West Pittston.
Contestants include:
Mira Mead, 7, who lives in Harding with her parents, Sherman and Megan Mead and two younger sister, Maya and Maria. Mira is a first-grade student at the Wyoming Area Primary Center. She enjoys dancing, tumbling and roller skating.
Mira is the granddaughter of Louis and Maria Pagnotti of West Pittston and Sherman and Janet Mead of Exeter.
Abigail Hribal, 8, is in third grade at Tenth Street Elementary School, where her favorite subjects are reading and science. She hopes to become a plastic surgeon when she grows up.
Abigail studies ballroom dancing and violin.
Julianna Kelly, 6, is a first grade student at the Wyoming Area Primary Center. She has an older sister, Laila, 7, and a brother Noah, 12. Julianna enjoys singing, dancing and dress up and putting on shows for her family. SHe is a cheerleader for the WWE Panthers.
Aubreyanna Cox, 6, is a first grade student at Wyoming Area Catholic School. She loves to sing, dance and play. Aubrey takes ballet at Julie Ardito’s. She lives in Forty Fort and will sing the song “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman.”
Layla Lasher is a fun loving 7 year old who enjoys playing soccer and karate. She has been going to NEPA MMA for 2 years now and loves it! She is a big sister to two little siblings and also loves her kittens. She’ll be showing off her karate skills again this year during the Little Miss Cherry Blossom competition.
Edie Appel, “Sweet Edie” is the daughter of Joseph and Melissa Appel of Exeter. She is 6 years old and attends Kindergarten at Wyoming Area. Edie studies Tap, Jazz and Ballet at the Joan Harris Centre and is also a cheerleader with the WWE Panthers.
Isabella Rose Miller is a 7 year old first grade student at the Wyoming Area primary center. She enjoys dancing, singing, and making her own YouTube videos. She does ballet at Broadway on the Boulevard in Pittston. Isabella is a doting and loving big sister. When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, her response is “famous.”
Aria Werner, 6, Aria enjoys coloring, reading and playing with her three dogs Kanga, Roux and Lucky. She is currently enrolled at Wyoming Area Kindergarten Center. Aria is a dedicated Joan Harris Center dancer she is currently prepping for her fourth June Recital which is held at Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She is also beginning her second year as a WWE Panthers D-Team Cheerleader and in her third season of Little League with GWA Little League.
