Youngsters hailing from Pittston and beyond are invited to compete to be crowned Little Miss and Little Mister Tomato Contest beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.

All contestants are asked to be at the festival bandshell by 10:30 a.m.

The first category, “Little Miss Pittston Tomato,” is open to girls ages 2 to 6 years old. The second category, “Little Mister Pittston Tomato,” is open to boys ages 2 to 6 years old.

The categories will be judged with 50 points for beauty and 50 points for personality. The children are asked to wear something they would wear to a day at the Tomato Festival.

One winner will be chosen in each category with one runner-up.

Entry fee is $5 and prizes will be awarded. Checks should be made payable to the Pittston Tomato Festival, Inc. Deadline for entries is Aug. 14.
