PITTSTON TWP. — By a unanimous vote of the three current Pittston Township supervisors at the Jan. 21 meeting, the Pittston Township Crime Watch was re-established. Michael Savokinas was appointed head of the crime watch.

Savokinas has a vast background in law enforcement, including that of a former Pittston Township police officer. He is currently a member of TCU and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36. He previously has held the positions of Luzerne County sheriff and as a special agent for Canadian Pacific Railway Police.
