Yard waste

Duryea Borough Street Department will collect yard waste on Fridays. Leaves can be placed in plastic bags that are not tied. Grass cannot be placed in plastic bags. Branches must be cut in four-foot sections and can be no larger than two inches in diameter. Branches can be placed in a container or bundled. Shrubs and clippings will be collected.

Duryea Borough yard waste is recycled at the Greater Regional Compost Center in Dupont. All yard waste is shredded into mulch. Rocks and dirt cannot be mixed in with the yard waste. The rocks and dirt are breaking the grinders of the shredder. Shrubs will not be picked up if there is a dirt ball on the roots.
