PITTSTON — The City of Pittston will hold its first-ever Pop-Up Produce Pantry, an initiative designed to support residents by providing free fresh produce and goods.
The event is free and open to Pittston City residents only.
The event will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Sullivan Park and will continue while supplies last.
This one-time event is part of the city’s Office of Community Development’s response to neighborhood needs and an effort to promote food accessibility and ensure that residents have access to healthy, fresh options.
“Events like this are so important for our city because they directly address the needs of our residents,” Shannon Bonacci, Pittston City Community Development director, said. “Through programs like the Pop-Up Produce Pantry, we’re working to strengthen our community by making healthy food options more accessible. It’s just one of the ways we’re listening to residents and providing resources that truly make a difference in their daily lives.”
Goods will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
