PITTSTON — It is officially Greater Pittston Santa Squad (GPSS) season, and the team is gearing up for another great Christmas campaign.

This year, due to circumstances out of GPSS hands, one of the biggest fundraisers of the year had to be cancelled in the annual golf tournament.

Anthony Marranca, GPSS founder, said that since the golf tournament has been canceled, all donations this year will be greatly appreciated.

“By the time this hits the paper, all of our angel trees will be handed out to various businesses, people willing to help with all that, but there are other ways you can help the Santa Squad,” GPSS founder Anthony Marranca said. “You can always reach out to us for a Santa Squad donation box that will be put in your business for the month of November to collect toys.”

According to Marranca, toys go to children in the Wyoming Area and Pittston Area school districts who may be in danger of missing Christmas. Daycares in the area are also welcome.

“Another way to help is our Amazon wish list,” Marranca added. Of course, hit our Facebook page to check our Facebook page, there’s a link to the Amazon wish list with about a dozen or so of the most popular toys that we look for every year to fill out to stock our warehouse.”

Marranca is asking if any offices would like to take a toy drive box, to reach out to them.

From there, GPSS will notify you of the time and day when the boxes will be returned.
