WILKES-BARRE — Elvis Presley isn’t a Pittston native, but the home of the “World Famous Tomato Festival” is also home to “The “World’s Greatest Elvis.”

That’s what BBC, the British public service broadcasting organization, called Pittston native and Presley tribute artist Shawn Klush. His tribute to “The King” even impressed filmmaker Martin Scorsese and musician Mick Jagger, creators and executive producers of the HBO series “Vinyl.”

Klush recently portrayed Presley in the series, and on April 8 he’ll become Presley for the crowd at Wilkes-Barre’s F.M. Kirby Center . He’ll even be joined on stage by Presley’s background singers, The Sweet Inspirations.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $29.50 to $49.50, plus applicable fees, and can be purchased starting Feb. 6 at KirbyCenter.org, by phone at 570-826-1100 or in person at the venue’s 71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre box office. Kirby Center members can purchase tickets during a special pre-sale starting Feb. 3.
