DURYEA — The Phoenix Performing Arts Centre, 409 Main St., will present “Lizzie: A Rock Musical” from Friday, Oct. 20 to Sunday, Oct. 22.
Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday’s show begins at 2 p.m.
The story takes place on a sweltering summer morning in 1892 in a small New England city where a prominent businessman and his wife were brutally axed to death in their home. Their daughter Lizzie Borden was the prime suspect. Lizzie’s trial was a coast-to-coast media sensation and her story has become an American legend.
“Lizzie” is four women fronting a four-piece rock band and revolves around rage, sex, betrayal and bloody murder.
This show has explicit language and adult content — parental guidance is suggested.
