Holy Hour is held every Wednesday from 6 to 7 p. m. followed by the Mass and the novena prayers to St. Joseph and St. Joseph Marello.
The Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held from 6 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the seminary chapel at St. Joseph’s Oblate Seminary. It includes recitation of the Rosary and opportunity for confessions. Holy Mass is celebrated at 7 p.m., followed by Novena prayers to St. Joseph and St. Joseph Marello, founder of the Oblates of St. Joseph religious congregation. The second annual Cookie Walk for the Christmas holiday will be conducted by the Sacred Heart Church Welcome Committee from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 9. There will be many different choices of homemade cookies, candies and fudge prepared and donated by fellow parishioners — from the stand-by favorites like chocolate chip and peanut butter, to the specialty cookies that you only get to enjoy around Christmas. Price is $8 per pound.
The oplatki, the traditional Eastern European Christmas Eve wafers, will be blessed during the 4 p.m. Mass on Dec. 1. Oplatki and 2019 calendars will be distributed in the church hall immediately following each Mass that weekend to mark the start of Advent. The offering is $2 per envelope for the wafers.
Advent Confession schedule: confessions are heard every Saturday, 3:15 to 3:50 p.m. Confessions will also be heard in Sacred Heart Church on the day before Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 23, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Polish-language Christmas carols will be sung by the Sacred Heart choir in the church prior to Midnight Mass at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 24.
