215 runners participated in the 2022 St. Patrick’s Leprechaun Loop 5K run.

PITTSTON — The Ninth Annual Leprechaun Loop Run/Walk will take place Saturday, March 1, starting promptly at 10:30 a.m.

Registration will take place at the Greater Pittston YMCA on Main Street starting at 9 a.m. the day of the race.

The Leprechaun Loop 5K-Race/1-Mile Walk, follows the same course as the Tomato Festival 5K race.

Trophies will be awarded to the top male/female runners. Medals will be given to first-place male/female runners in each of the following age categories: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

For those choosing to race in St. Patrick’s Day garb, there will be prizes awarded for the three best costumes.

The race fee is $25.

Proceeds from the race benefit pediatric programs at Allied Services.

Main St. will close down at 10 a.m. for activities.
