PITTSTON — The Great Pittston Chamber of Commerce will hold its autumn breakfast meeting Friday, Nov. 18 at St. Anthony’s Parish Center, 28 Memorial St., Exeter.
State Rep. Michael B. Carroll will serve as the principal speaker, and Michelle Pane will serve as general chairperson. The
Registration and networking begins at 7:45 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Parish Center in Exeter. The breakfast buffet, served by Grico’s Restaurant, opens at 8 a.m.
All chamber members are encouraged to attend and new members are always welcome.

State Rep. Michael B. Carroll
State Rep. Michael B. Carroll was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2006. He formerly worked as the chief of staff for state Rep. John Yudichak, was a legislative liaison for transportation issues under Gov. Robert Casey and served as district office director for Congressman Paul Kanjorski. A graduate of Pittston Area High School, Carroll earned a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies from the University of Scranton.
Carroll is Democratic chairman of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee; a member of the Transportation Committee, where he serves as the Democratic chairman of the Subcommittee on Highways; and a member of the Rules Committee.
Carroll is a member of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency Board of Directors and a board member for the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he served as the 2010-11 Legislative Fellow at East Stroudsburg University. A lifelong resident of Avoca, he is a member of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in Pittston, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Avoca Division.
He is a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish in Avoca and has served as a lector for the past 30 years. In 2010, Carroll was awarded the Boy Scouts of America Minsi Trails Council Distinguished Citizen Award for his work to rehabilitate the Stillwater Dam in Tobyhanna Township. In 2014, he was awarded the Jean Yates Award from the Pittston Memorial Library Board of Trustees based on his dedication and service to the library and the Joseph Battisto Award for his legislative service to the citizens of Monroe County. In May, he received the BAYADA Home Health Care Champion award, and in June he was presented with the Silver Bayonet Award by AMVETS in grateful appreciation of services rendered to the community, state and nation.
Carroll and his wife, Kelly, have three children: Matt, Mackenzie and Ali. He is the son of Michael and Jean Marie Carroll of Avoca.
Michelle Pane
Michelle Pane is a business relationship manager and financial advisor for Fidelity Bank located at 225 Kennedy Blvd. in Pittston. She has over 16 years’ experience in the insurance, financial services and banking industry.
Healthy Workplace Awards
The chamber will also announce winners of the 2016 Healthy Workplace of the Year Awards sponsored by the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, ChamberChoice, and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
The awards honor companies for their commitment to their employees’ health.
Regional winners will be chosen in three categories: Healthy Workplace Award – Small Business, Healthy Workplace Award – Large Business, and Continuing Excellence Award.
